CAMDENBOSS TO SHOW ACTIVE DIN RAIL ENCLOSURES AND WATERPROOF CONNECTORS AT SOUTHERN MANUFACTURING & ELECTRONICS 2017
01/02/2017
CamdenBoss, provider of performance engineered interconnection and enclosures, is showing its latest new products at Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2017 (FIVE, Farnborough, UK, 21st to 23rd March) including an innovative range of DIN Rail enclosures enabling quick and easy contact with a powered “active” track within the DIN Rail and a range of IP68 waterproof connectors.
Multiple enclosures from the company’s CNMB, CDIB and CVB-Plus ranges can be used in conjunction with the new active power track, connecting via specially developed 5mm pitch terminal blocks. Terminal blocks are available for both horizontal or vertical mounting PCB options within the standard CamdenBoss DIN Rail enclosures.
Active tracks feature five bus lines manufactured from tin and nickel plated copper within a black PVC extrusion. Each power line is rated up to 63V at 5A. Five lines allows the customer to use power or data bus bars as their system requires. This allows implementation of many protocols including RS232, RS485, 12C etc. The active DIN system allows enclosures to be removed and refitted quickly and easily without affecting other units on the rail.
Exposed parts of the active power track can be protected using plastic covers that are easily cut to length with scissors or craft knife. End caps provide further protection and a neat aesthetic finish.
The new IP68 waterproof connectors offer a range of benefits including innovative one-piece construction to reduce the possibility of incorrect assembly. The robust CPWP3 range features an integrated terminal block design so there are no small parts that might be dropped. This makes them ideal for use in field cable joining applications where losing parts can create difficulties. The compact one-piece construction ensures ease of installation with colour-coded screws/terminals making wiring up easy, while the inclusion of Braille points ensures correct identification of connections in low light conditions.
The CPWP3 range includes three models – a waterproof field assembly T connector, a waterproof field assembly in-line connector and a 3-pole waterproof panel mount connector. Specifications include voltage and current ratings of 250V/16A, contact resistance of 10mΩ, insulation resistance of 500MΩ at 500V DC and temperature rating from -40 to +105°C. Contact/terminal material is nickel-plated brass and size OD (outside diameter) range for the T and in-line connectors is 5.5mm to 8.5mm. For the panel mount connector, minimum wire size OD is 6mm, 10mm maximum.
Complementing the CPWP3 range is the CPWPES family of waterproof assembly splitters offering 3, 5 and 9 outputs from a 3-pole single input. These provide a compact, convenient, waterproof and extremely robust method for connecting a feed cable to several outputs. The 3- and 5-way splitters offer a voltage rating of 400V at 20A and 17A respectively while the 9-way splitter is rated at 250V/10A.
Compliant with EN61984 and CE approved, the new waterproof assembly connectors from CamdenBoss are ideal for all field installation applications.
Also on show will be new integrated LED panel mount indicators with test circuits, control enclosures, control switches, ultrasonic transducers and solar panels. The new products will be shown alongside the company’s CamBlock Plus range of terminal blocks offering both VDE and UL approvals, DIN Rail instrument and module boxes, and Flat Sheet Plastic Technology (FSPT®) enclosures.
CamdenBoss is exhibiting on stand number C92.
