I’ve always produced my product in metal and am considering moving to plastic. Is this possible?

We have had many success stories of customers making the move over to plastic from metal enclosures. We look at the breakdown of the product and achieve like for like or improved features. Plastic also offers a more aesthetic look and feel, as well as more flexibility. For instance, you can add standoffs, fixings, cable ties and knockouts, which in turn means you can have folding trays, lids, wheels, swivel tops and so much more…

Metal pricing has soared in price… are there other options available?

Yes, we can take your metal enclosure and create a fully custom, plastic enclosure. Or, if your product uses a combination of both metal and plastic, we also have options available.

Does plastic offer the same protection to metal?

Plastic can sometimes offer superior protection to metal enclosures, depending on the environment. Plastic’s natural advantage of not shielding RF makes them ideal for many applications. However, when required we can shield our plastic enclosures against EMC and RFI, by applying a conductive coating. Plastic could be a better solution for you, with maybe even a price saving too!

I want my end product to be on brand.

We offer a wide range of materials and colours to keep your product on brand. We also operate a complete in-house printing capability. Our design engineers are on hand to ensure that they deliver your product to your exact unique style and requirements.

I’ve got a bespoke product but I’m nervous about moving to a new supplier

We handle all of the hard stuff, using industry standard CAD software we can pick up your project at any stage and process it through to manufacture, or if you have an existing product already in production, we can take on that too!

The enclosure needs to be placed in a harsh outdoor environment; will a custom plastic enclosure be robust enough?

We have years of experience in manufacturing robust custom enclosures, offering strength and rigidity to safely house your electronics and internal components in harsh environments. They can be designed to specific IP ratings, safeguarding your enclosure from most conditions. Our fire retardant ABS stock material is the perfect choice for high power and oil based environments.

What is the highest IP rating that can be achieved?

We can design and manufacture plastic fabricated enclosures up to IP67, from CCTV systems to bird boxes to external control boxes - you name it we’ve done it. Choose from our UV resistant plastics, aluminium composites or even include metal chassis or cover panels to ensure your enclosure is perfectly suited to its environment. We will design and manufacture your enclosure achieving the required IP rating and your product’s unique style and function.

I need a quick turnaround; can this be achieved with a custom design?

The design process is considerably faster than a custom moulded product at a fraction of the cost.
